Intro to Linux.

Restart the computer and hit any key right after the Dell splash screen
appears to make it get to the bootloader screen and choose Fedora Core.
(the hard disk is partitioned, Windows on one partition, Linux on
another and either operating system can be booted)

Fedora Core is from RedHat, one of the many "distributions" of Linux.
Most are free and "open source", i.e. the source code is available for
modification.  

After Linux boots, login with username 'student' and the usual password.

We are all sharing this one account whose data files are on a remote
server on the network (not your computer's hard drive), so we all see
the same files and desktop.  This allows login from any computer and
having the same configuration and access to data files.

This lab exercise is to become familiar with this version of Linux and
so doesn't have many required tasks.  It's mostly to explore.

Hot keys: F2 toggles maximization, F1 minimizes, F4 kills window.
Try them on a window.

Upper right hand corner is "Workspace" switcher.  By default you have
four workspaces, i.e. desktops.  Start an application in each
workspace and switch between them.

type in a couple lines, save as yourname in the ifsm201 folder, copy
to your thumb drive, print to classroom printer.
